When To Visit

Foxton Locks are open all year round - and there's no charge to visit.

You can explore the locks and surroundings at any time. Some of the attractions on site have individual opening hours.

Foxton Canal Museum: Open every day in summer from 10am to 5pm. Restricted opening hours during the winter season - contact the museum for winter weekday opening hours. Foxton Locks Inn: Open every day.

Foxton Locks Shop: Open every day, 9am to 5pm. (Closed Christmas Day.)

Coffee Stop at Top Lock Cottage: Open every day in the summer season, 10am to 6pm.

Lock opening times for boaters: The locks are manned between 8am and 7pm seven days a week during the summer. For more details, see our special section for boaters. You can call the local British Waterways office on 01908 302500.
